I agree, as a participant of Jaeger, to adhere to the following code of conduct:

Respect and Inclusion

  • I will treat all participants (players, crew, and staff) with courtesy, respect, and kindness.
  • I understand that discrimination, harassment, or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • I know that persistent ignoring of pronouns or deadnaming will be considered malicious. We accept that genuine mistakes happen; just apologise, correct yourself and move on.
  • We support supporting LARPs. I will not bad mouth other games on our official community channels.
  • We all have different ways of understanding the world around us. I accept that the way I think and function may not be the same as others, and will be respectful, courteous, and aim to understand those differences.
  • Jaeger is at its roots a cooperative game. I will be the player I want to play with!

Consent and Boundaries

  • I will seek clear consent for physical contact or emotionally charged roleplay.
  • I will use the agreed safety mechanic, the Okay System, to adjust or pause interactions when needed.
  • I will check wristbands before initiating physical contact, and respect red/yellow wristband boundaries without requiring further explanation.
  • When a boundary has been established, I will respect it. If I do not believe a boundary is being respected, I will speak to a referee.

Safety and Responsibility

  • I will prioritise safety in all activities and follow game safety protocols.
  • I will refrain from behaviours that endanger myself or others, including bringing allergens into the field.
  • If visibly drunk, I acknowledge I may be removed from the field until recovered.
  • I will work with Game Team for any accessibility needs I require, but will follow their judgement if they say an environment is not safe for me.
  • I will give feedback through the proper channels, rather than messaging individual Game Team members directly. I understand that all feedback is read and considered, but not everything can be acted on.

Personal Responsibility

  • I will bring and manage my own medication, appropriate camping equipment, and any other personal essentials.
  • I will be prepared for adverse event conditions, for example wet and cold weather.
  • I accept that Game Team are not responsible for my personal wellbeing outside of event safety.
  • I accept that Game Team are not responsible for damage to, or loss of, my personal kit or belongings.
  • In the event of any issues or concerns, I will not try to resolve it myself in field and will talk to a referee.

In and Out of Character Conduct

  • I will engage respectfully both in character, out of character, and online; including in official Jaeger spaces like Discord and social media.
  • I will keep in character conflict separate from out of character relationships.
  • I understand that OOC conflict should not be carried into online spaces, and that persistent conflict online may be treated the same as persistent conflict at events.

Reporting and Consequences

  • At an event, I can raise a concern with any referee or member of Game Team.
  • Outside of an event, I can raise a concern by emailing Game Team directly.
  • I can raise anything to Game Team, even if I don’t think it’s serious enough to mention. This includes things like an issue with catering, parking, or a difficult interaction with venue staff, not just in game or player conduct concerns. Game Team would rather know and be able to act, than not know at all.
  • I will only use “safeguarding” to describe genuine risks to safety or wellbeing. Interpersonal conflict or dislike between participants is still worth raising with Game Team, it just isn’t a safeguarding matter, and naming it accurately helps Game Team respond in the right way.
  • I will raise concerns privately with Game Team rather than raising them publicly, to protect the privacy of everyone involved.
  • I understand that breaches of this code will be handled case by case, and may include (but are not limited to) warnings, suspension, restriction of specific skills or privileges (such as firearms or projectile use), or removal from future events.
