I agree as a participant of Jaeger LARP to adhere by the following code of conduct:
1. Respect and Inclusion
- I will treat all participants—players, crew, and staff—with courtesy, respect, and kindness.
- I understand that discrimination, harassment, or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.
- I know that ignoring of pronouns or deadnaming will be considered malicious and can result in me being removed from the game.
- We all have different ways to understanding the world around us, I accept that the way I think and function may not be the same as others and will be respectful and courteous and aim to understand those differences.
- Without the informed consent of all involved I will not “trauma dump” out of character on my peers. If I need mental health support I will find the appropriate person on site. For example, a mental health first aider.
- We support supporting LARPs, I will not bad mouth other games on the official community channels or at events.
- Jaeger is at its roots a cooperative game, I will be the player I want to play with!
2. Consent and Boundaries
- I will seek clear consent for physical contact or emotionally charged roleplay.
- I will use the agreed safety mechanics, The Okay System, to adjust or pause interactions when needed.
- When a boundary has been established, I will respect it. If I do not believe a boundary is being respected, I will speak to a ref at event or contact them via the official channels.
- I will not use any type of fake blood, or other material that may stain, on any kit other than my own, without explicit permission of the owner.
3. Safety and Accessibility
- I will prioritise safety in all activities and follow game safety protocols.
- I will refrain from behaviours that endanger myself or others, including bringing prohibited allergens into the field.
- I understand that Jaeger LARP has a zero tolerance policy to illegal substances on site. I acknowledge they will alert the authorities and I will be banned from the game, if found with any illegal substance.*
- If visibly drunk, I acknowledge I may be removed from the IC area until recovered.
- I will work with Game Team for any accessibility needs I require, but will follow their judgement if they say that an environment is not safe for me.
- When giving feedback, I will ensure that it is constructive and done via the proper channels and not directly message individual members of Game Team.
- I accept that whilst Game Team are happy to take on feedback and will always seek to implement improvements, that not all of my feedback may be taken on board.
- *I will notify Game Team if I have a medical exemption prior to an event.
4. Personal Responsibility
- I will ensure to bring and manage my own medication, appropriate camping equipment, and any other personal essentials.
- I will be prepared for adverse event conditions, for example, hot weather, wet and cold weather.
- I accept that Game Team are not responsible for my personal wellbeing outside of event safety.
- I accept Game Team are not responsible to damage or loss of my personal kit or belongings.
5. In and Out of Character Conduct
- I will follow the game’s rules and rulings given by Game Team.
- I will engage respectfully both in character, out of character and online.
- I will keep in character conflict separate from out of character relationships. If I have difficulties with this, I will seek Game Team’s advice.
If I violate community conduct, I understand that I may be formally sanctioned by Game Team, including but not limited to; warnings, suspensions or bans placed against me and I may not be welcome to return to the game.
